Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Cookies are small data files set by a website in your browser. We use the minimum number we need to make the platform work. We do not use third-party tracking cookies by default.
Cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Secure-authjs.session-token | Keeps you signed in. Set only after you sign in. | 30 days | Strictly necessary |
| authjs.csrf-token | Protects sign-in flow against CSRF. | Session | Strictly necessary |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers your locale preference (not used on tidelab — relevant on the sister site eliosail.com). | 1 year | Preference |
localStorage (not a cookie but related)
We store a small amount of data in your browser's localStorage — quiz progress and UI preferences. This stays on your device and is not sent to our server unless you sign in and choose to sync your progress.
Third-party / analytics cookies
We do not currently set any third-party cookies. When we add analytics (Google Analytics 4 or similar), we will:
- Ask for your consent first via a banner — analytics will not load until you accept.
- List the analytics cookies in this policy.
- Configure them with IP anonymisation and no cross-site tracking.
How to manage cookies
You can clear or block cookies from your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break sign-in. We don't offer a separate cookie-preferences widget because we don't set non-essential cookies yet.
